Ecological compatibility

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE) is a purely safe material which is innocuous when it is used in the production of food packaging.

PET contains no toxic substances that are able to migrate into food during its shelf life, and it is inactive in the environment as it doesn’t dissolve in water and acid solutions.

 

Already used PET products can be easily recycled. In the process of recycling PET decomposes into water and carbon dioxide thus making its utilization harmless to the environment.

 

The production of granulated PET material is also eco-friendly what cannot be said about other industrial polymers. In terms of its sanitation properties PET is cleaner and less harmless than polystyrene (PS) or polyvinylchloride (PVC). 

 

PET is a frost-resistant polymer which preserves its strength properties and doesn’t become fragile at the temperature up to -60 о С. 

 

One of the most important advantages of food packaging is a high gas permeability barrier.  The rate of PET in this respect is close to an ideal one. 

 

Strength properties, a puncture resistance rate tested on the least thickness of the material, high humidity resistance and resistance to the majority of chemicals are indisputable advantages of PET packaging.

PET ensures that products will be presented attractively, it increases their shelf life, prevents packaging from weeping, drying and doesn’t let food tastes blend.
